Miscellaneous:
Participants competing in the NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championship may not participate in any other eliminator category at the event. Should the division champion be unable to attend, an alternate will be selected in the following manner: first alternate will be Race of Champions winner for bracket; second alternate will be event runner-up; third alternate will be Race of Champions runner-up. Should none of them be able to attend, there will be no representative from that division. In the case of Division 6, reverse the reference of event and Race of Champions, because its Race of Champions winner is the NHRA Summit National Championship qualifier.

Points: A driver's best five finishes of the first eight NHRA Top Sportsman races attended will count toward a division championship. At the time a driver enters a divisional event for the first time of the season, it is required that said driver declare which NHRA division (Southeast Division, North Central Division, or South Central Division) is to be his or her home division. That division will become his or her home division for the season. Up to two "out-of-division" races may be counted. Once a driver has competed for points at the maximum number of eight Top Sportsman events, the driver may compete at additional events but will not receive additional NHRA points. To be eligible for official NHRA Top Sportsman points and subsequent postseason awards, a contestant must participate at a minimum of three races within his or her home division.

NHRA Jeg's Super Quick Series Contestant Information
The 9-race series in 2003 will culminate with the crowning of the NHRA Jeg's Super Quick North Central Division champion. Please read the following information carefully, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask a member of the NHRA North Central Division staff.
  1. NHRA MEMBERSHIP: All contestants in the NHRA Jeg's Super Quick Series must be current members of NHRA; membership forms are available in the tech/registration area at the event. NHRA membership offers 48 issues of National DRAGSTER, an NHRA Rulebook, Fan Guide, and NHRA membership kit, as well as a participant catastrophic medical insurance plan.
  2. LICENSE/COMPETITION NUMBERS: All NHRA Jeg's Super Quick contestants must have a current NHRA Class 3 or 4 license and E.T. competition number, which must be properly displayed on the race car.
  3. TECHNICAL INFORMATION: The standard NHRA eliminator system will apply at all NHRA Jeg's Super Quick events. All technical information applying to Super Quick may be found under the E.T. section and the General Regulations section of the 2003 NHRA Rulebook. Delay boxes are permitted. All Super Quick entries will be required to have a valid chassis certification sticker affixed to the frame before participating.
  4. QUALIFYING RUNS: Check event schedule for times of each designated qualifying session. NHRA Jeg's Super Quick contestants may also make time trials as event schedules permit, but they will not count toward qualifying. Refer to your run card for lane assignments as indicated for the proper qualifying session. Qualifying runs quicker than 4.500 seconds will be placed on the bottom of the qualifying list (e.g., 4.555, 4.911, 5.480, 4.499, 4.998). If there is a qualifying tie to the thousandth, the first racer posting the time will take the precedent. A WPA (weight performance allowance) deduction of .20-second will be applied to all full-bodied cars (full fenders, two functional doors, and roof) during qualifying only. The .20-second will be deducted from the actual qualifying time and placed on the qualifying sheet according to the factored e.t. (e.g., a full-bodied car qualifying at 4.951 would have .20-second deducted = 4.751, 5.123 -.20 = 4.923). Factored qualifying runs quicker than 4.300 will be placed on the bottom of the qualifying list in the appropriate order.
  5. ELIMINATION PAIRINGS: Qualified NHRA Jeg's Super Quick participants will be paired using the appropriate ladder for the field size. The insertion of alternates is as follows: the first alternate will assume the open position to race the slowest qualified car, the second alternate will race the next slowest car, and so on until the ladder is complete or all alternates have been used.
  6. DIAL-INS: NHRA Jeg's Super Quick qualifiers may change dial-ins between rounds, including a rerun situation. Contestants may dial quicker than their qualifying time, but not slower than one-tenth of a second above their best non-factored qualifying run. Minimum dial-in: 4.50. It is the responsibility of each driver to place his or her dial-in on the car in such a manner as to be clearly visible from the control tower.
  7. LANE CHOICE: The low e.t. qualifier will have lane choice in the first round of eliminations. Lane choice for all remaining rounds will be determined by the driver running closest to his or her dial-in but not under in the previous round having lane choice.
  8. NON-QUALIFIERS: Any non-qualifier not inserted as an alternate may enter Super Pro E.T. at no additional entry fee when such eliminator is contested as part of the event.
  9. LOW QUALIFIER BONUS AWARDS: Low Qualifier Open Wheeled $100 Jeg's Mail Order Gift Certificate Low Qualifier Bodied $100 Jeg's Mail Order Gift Certificate
  10. CONTINGENCY AWARDS: Eligibility for posted sponsor contingency awards is based on completion of Product Verification Forms at the conclusion of the event. The basic conditions of payment of all contingency awards are a.) Use of product; b.) Display of sponsor decals on each side of the vehicle for all qualifying and elimination runs of an event. Check with any member of the NHRA event crew for available decals prior to qualifying.
  11. JEG'S SUPER QUICK INVITATION: A special non-points invitational is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Windy Hollow Raceway Park. The event commemorates the 15th season of the series at the track that hosted the first Division 3 Super Quick event, June 17, 1989.
  12. JEG'S SUPER QUICK SHOOTOUT: A year-end Jeg's Super Quick Shootout will be contested Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003 during qualifying rounds for the series event at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The top eight qualifiers based on qualifying points awarded as follows: No. 1 = 32 points, No. 2 = 31 points, No. 3 = 30 points, etc., earned at each 2003 series event up to the Indianapolis Raceway Park event will be eligible for the Jeg's Super Quick Shootout.
  13. JEG'S 4-SECOND CLUB: Any racer recording a non-factored 4.500- to 4.999-second run during qualifying or eliminations will receive Jeg's 4-Second Club decals.
  14. POINTS: NHRA Jeg's Super Quick Series and NHRA decals must be displayed to be eligible for NHRA Jeg's Super Quick Series points, which will be awarded as follows: 10 points to non-qualifiers (1 qualifying run required), 30 points to round-one finishers, 41 points to round-two finishers, 52 points to round-three finishers, 63 points to round-four finishers, 74 points to the runner-up, and 95 points to the winner. Each contestant may earn points at a maximum of six (6) NHRA Jeg's Super Quick races. There will be no points waivers. Racers entering and earning points at more than six races will have their six best finishing races count toward the divisional championship. For tiebreaker procedures, contact the Division 3 office.
  15. DIVISION CHAMPION: The 2003 NHRA Jeg's Super Quick Division champion will earn $2,000 courtesy of Jeg's Mail Order, an NHRA champion trophy, jacket, and an NHRA Gold Card good for the 2004 season. The points runner-up will receive $1,000, and the third-place finisher will receive $500. Each top 10 year-end points finisher will receive an NHRA Jeg's Super Quick Series jacket. All year-end awards will be presented at the annual North Central Division Land of the Winners Awards Banquet, Jan. 17, 2004.
