Rescheduled Indy Information – May 21 & 22

4/25/2010

Mother nature finally got the best of the NHRA Lucas Oil Spring Spectacle of Speed at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis with the event being postponed Sunday after persistent showers cancelled any hope of eliminations today (Sunday, April 25).  The event has been rescheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 21 -22.  Tech for the event was closed prior to postponement, no additional entries will be accepted.  All tickets for the April 25 date will be honored for either of the rescheduled days.

Per Competition Policy & Procedure the following policies will apply to the rescheduled event:

10:6 / 10:7 QUALIFIED FIELDS – PAIRINGS – LADDERS

Since eliminations were not in progress at the time of postponement:

Super Stock and Stock:

The field size at the rescheduled event will be determined by the actual number of returning drivers.  First round pairings will be conducted on a random basis – pairing procedure will be conducted in a manner that prevents cars within the same class from racing against each other.  Drivers will be positioned on a ladder for round two eliminations based on furtherest under the index in round one.

TAD/TAFC/Comp/TD/TS:

Additional qualifying runs will be conducted prior to the start of eliminations at the rescheduled event, drivers not returning for the conclusion of the event will be automatically withdrawn from the event and will be omitted from the qualifying sheet.  Ladders will be generated following Friday, May 21 qualifying.

Super Comp/Super Gas/Super Street

As noted above no new entries will be accepted.  First round would remain random paired.  Drivers will be positioned on a ladder for round two eliminations based on closest to their respective index.

10:3 VEHICLE / CLASS CHANGES

Since the event has been rescheduled to a new date and eliminations were not in progress at the time of postponement, the following replacement vehicle policies apply:

TAD and TAFC – returning drivers may re-register in a different vehicle.

Competition Eliminator – returning drivers may re-register in a different vehicle but must remain in the same class (i.e. A/D to A/D, C/SM to C/SM, etc.)

Top Dragster and Top Sportsman – returning drivers may re-register in a different vehicle but remain in the same eliminator.

Super Stock and Stock – returning drivers may re-register in a different class but must remain within their original eliminator category.

Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street – returning drivers may change to a different Super Category other than originally entered.

All returning entries will be required to be presented for inspection prior to any runs.

Replacement vehicle cannot have been utilized by any other contestant at the same event.  If replacement vehicle is used all previous qualifying times will be deleted.

Entries need not be present for time trials or qualifying Friday, May 21 to compete in eliminations Saturday, May 22.  The North Central Division office must be notified by any TAD, TAFC, Comp, TD or TS entry that will arrive late Friday or Saturday morning and potentially would be in the qualified field so they are not omitted from the qualifying list.

2010 JEGS Allstar points will conclude the May 22 weekend should the event be postponed.

The 2009 Top Dragster JEGS SHOOTOUT has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 12 during the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing series event at Route 66 Raceway.
