Jay Oakley Wins 2025 Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout
WEST POINT, Ky. – The wait is finally over! After Mother Nature prevented the inaugural 2025 Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout from being completed as scheduled, the eight qualified competitors finally had their opportunity to settle the unfinished business at Ohio Valley Dragway.
When the final win light came on, Jay Oakley was standing as the inaugural Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout Champion and taking home the long-awaited Wally.
Unfinished Business from 2025
The Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout debuted in 2025 as a special race-within-a-race for competitors in the Oakley Motorsports Super Quick Series. Points earned during the first nine events determined the elite eight-car field, which was originally scheduled to compete during the season-ending Fall Classic at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on October 18, 2025.
Mother Nature had other plans.
The cancellation of the Fall Classic brought the 2025 season to an unexpected end. While the Shootout purse was divided among the eight qualified drivers, one important piece of business remained:
The Wally was still up for grabs.
After several attempts to reunite the entire field during the 2026 season, the 52nd Annual DoorSlammer National Open at Ohio Valley Dragway finally provided the opportunity.
Following the completion of Saturday's Oakley Motorsports Super Quick Series competition, it was time to settle it on the racetrack.
The opening round featured the eight competitors who earned their positions through the 2025 qualifying program:
No. 1 Phillip Oakley vs. No. 5 Ken Storey
No. 3 Cody Wiggins vs. No. 7 Scott Wright
No. 2 Logan Jamison vs. No. 6 Jay Oakley
No. 4 Kenny Carson vs. No. 8 Tyler Sizemore
Phillip Oakley, Cody Wiggins, Jay Oakley and Tyler Sizemore emerged from the opening round to make up the final four.
Wiggins then defeated Phillip Oakley in the semifinals, while Jay Oakley advanced past Sizemore, setting up a final-round showdown between Cody Wiggins and Jay Oakley.
After waiting nearly a year for the Shootout to be decided, it was Jay Oakley who turned on the final win light, defeating Wiggins and officially becoming the 2025 Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout Champion.
A Program Built to Reward Super Quick's Best
The Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout was created through a partnership between the NHRA North Central Division, Oakley Motorsports and Law Chevrolet to reward the competitors who support the Super Quick Series throughout the season.
Consistency earns a place in the eight-car field, but once the Shootout begins, everything is settled head-to-head on the racetrack.
Located in Booneville, Indiana, Law Chevrolet joined the North Central Division racing family in 2025 as the title partner of the Shootout. Special thanks also go to Ohio Valley Dragway for providing the opportunity to bring the eight qualifiers together during the DoorSlammer National Open and finally complete the inaugural Shootout.

There won't be much time to celebrate before another Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout Wally is on the line.
The 2026 Law Chevrolet Super Quick Series Shootout is set for Saturday, October 24, as part of the Fall Classic at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, the season-ending event for the Oakley Motorsports Super Quick Series.
Another season of qualifying will produce another elite eight-car field, with three rounds standing between the qualifiers and a Law Chevrolet Shootout Wally.
Before turning the page to Indianapolis, congratulations go to all eight competitors who earned their way into the inaugural field: Phillip Oakley, Logan Jamison, Cody Wiggins, Kenny Carson, Ken Storey, Jay Oakley, Scott Wright and Tyler Sizemore.
