2026 Rule Updates
For the 2026 season, the Super Quick qualified field will be set at 48 cars with performance parameters established between 4.40 and 4.65 seconds. The minimum dial‑in has been adjusted to 4.65 for 2026 competition.
Any competitor recording a qualifying run of 4.399 seconds or quicker will be placed at the bottom of the qualifying sheet. Additionally, no competitor may dial slower than 4.65 seconds during eliminations.
If fewer than 48 competitors record a qualifying time of 4.65 or quicker, additional racers who did not meet the 4.65 qualifying threshold may be added to the bottom of the final qualifying sheet and placed on the elimination ladder. These competitors must maintain a mandatory minimum dial‑in of 4.65 and will be eligible for alternate points only for that event.
Special Announcement: 75th Anniversary Wally Awards
In celebration of the NHRA’s 75th Anniversary, event winners in 2026 will receive commemorative 75th Anniversary Wally trophies, adding historic significance to each victory throughout the season.
